Youth Ministry
Youth ministry is the response of our Christian community to the
needs of our young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of
youth with our St. Simon community. Youth Ministry is guided
by our three main goals: to empower young people to live as
disciples of Jesus Christ, to draw young people to participate in
the mission of our Catholic faith community, and to foster the
total personal and spiritual growth of each young person. At St.
Simon, we strive to engage and involve our youth in the Church
today by following four pillars: catechesis, service opportunities,
fellowship, and outreach through non-gathered ministry. Nongathered
ministry is dedicated toward reaching youth who do
not attend youth ministry or parish events.
The Youth Commission is called to serve as advocates for our
youth and their families in our parish community. We will strive
to create a welcoming community for all the youth that enter the
doors of St. Simon. It is our mission to allow the youth of St.
Simon to grow in their faith and become participating members
throughout their involvement with the parish community.
Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm.
