Our mission as the Music Ministry of St. Simon the Apostle Parish is to praise God through prayer and song and to promote the full, conscious, and active participation of all in our liturgical celebrations.
As Christ himself came “not to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45), so too are we called to serve Christ and the Sacred Liturgy through music and song.
We are always welcoming new music ministers!
Here are some of the ministries you could be a part of:
Cantors (song leaders) – Cantors lead worship from the lectern.
Vocalists and Choir Members – Vocalists and choir members sing in the choir space. No prior experience is necessary.
Pianists – Pianists accompany all Mass music.
Instrumentalists – Guitarists, percussionists, violinists, trumpeters… all instruments of different types and ability levels are welcome.
YLC: Our Youth Liturgical Choir (3rd-8th grade) consists of school and parish children who regularly sing for weekday and weekend Masses.
Resurrection Choir: This choir is called upon to serve in our community as the choir for our funerals.
