Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to distribute the Precious Blood
The Archdiocese of Indianapolis has indicated that we will likely resume the distribution of the chalice beginning in Advent. An official start time has not been confirmed, however, now is the time to prepare. As we re-introduce the distribution of the chalice, we will need Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who are committed to consuming not only what is left of the Precious Blood in their chalice but also wait to consume the water Father Doug uses to purify their chalice.
We will introduce two chalices at Mass (each serving two communion lines) as we are unsure how many will want to receive. If those receiving from the chalice warrants additional chalices, we can do so, assuming we have the Extraordinary Ministers to fill those positions. We will train those ministers who wish to distribute the precious blood in preparation when the Archdiocese gives the official start date.
