Dear Families,
Part of my formation for the Diaconate is to dedicate time to serve the poor. I’ve been asked by Deacon Mike to serve as our parish liaison for an organization that is working hard to end hunger in the United States, and abroad: Bread for the World. Bread is a collective Christian advocacy organization that urges Congress to pass legislation to end hunger and poverty. Perhaps you have heard about this fantastic endeavor to boost nutrition to thousand’s of food-insecure families? Perhaps you know how Bread works with hundreds of Christian congregations around the country to write letters to Congress asking for their help to end hunger and poverty. This is one way to our faith into action.
Each year we intend to put our faith in action by hosting a letter-writing campaign to our elected members of congress. We want them to know that relieving hunger and poverty is something we all share in common.

Peace and God bless
